Focus on Immersive Technologies
The UK invites South Korean Immersive Technologies companies and organisations to participate in targeted 1:1 meetings to share knowledge, initiate new business and find collaboration partners.
Innovate UK under the Global Business Innovation Programme has selected to fund 16 high growth, ambitious UK companies developing immersive technologies to visit South Korea from 13 - 17 June 2022.
The aim of the visit is to bring together UK and South Korean companies and organisations to explore opportunities for innovation collaboration and technology exchange.
Innovate UK EDGE in partnership with ED Research and K-META have arranged 1-2-1 business meetings on the 15th June 2022.

Only UK companies who have been selected to participate in the Global Business Innovation Programme are eligible to register. The sessions are open to South Korean companies and organisations with an interest in Immersive Technologies
Why the UK?
In 2019 there were estimated to be 1,250 active immersive specialist companies in the UK, and another 4,500 participant companies, generating over 50% of their revenue from the creation, development and production of immersive content, software, or hardware. It is predicted that by 2030, the immersive tech sector will create over 400,000 new UK jobs and deliver a $69.3 billion boost to the UK economy.
Why South Korea?
South Korea is an emerging key player in the metaverse, spring boarding from its strong gaming industry and popular culture content. President Moon Jae-in’s Digital New Deal 2.0has pledged up to 30 billion won ($26 million) in 2022to support the industry. With a government leading the way toward public-private technological innovation partnerships and focusing greater investment into SME’s and international collaboration, this market offers significant opportunity for ambitious UK digital creative tech companies.
